The 2015 RDGA Senior Championship was hosted by Webster Golf Club’s East Course on Wednesday and Thursday, August 26 and 27.

At the conclusion of the 36-hole stroke play competition, two golfers were tied atop the leaderboard for the overall District Senior Championship title – which included players from both Senior (ages 55 to 59) and Super Senior (ages 60 to 64) age flights, which played from the Blue Tees throughout the Championship.

Bob Chalanick, from Ravenwood Golf Club and Paul Parrone, from Midvale Country Club, both finished regulation play at 5-over-par 149 for the Championship, forcing a sudden death playoff. In the playoff, Chalanick outlasted Parrone with a par on the first extra hole to claim his second RDGA Senior Championship title.

Parrone made up the most distance in Thursday’s second round – following his first round of 78, he carded six birdies in his 1-under-par round of 71 for the low round of the Championship. Chalanick posted scores of 76-73 for his 149 total.

Chalanick, 59, becomes the ninth mulitiple winner of the District Senior Championship in the last 40 years, having previously won the title in 2012. Chalanick also won the RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Memorial in 1994.

Irondequoit Country Club’s John August finished the 2015 Senior Championship at 8-over-par 152 to finish in third place overall. As the top three overall finishers, Chalanick, Parrone and August each earned exemptions into the 2016 RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Memorial next summer at Ridgemont Country Club.
