A Proud Dad Moment

As a new feature this year I am going to be providing a monthly Executive Director Column to our newly upgraded newsletter. This new newsletter will be coming out on the 1st of each month.
I hope you have all had a wonderful off-season and are primed and ready to get golfing in RDGA land! We here at the RDGA can’t wait to see you all.
I wanted to share a Proud Daddy story with you for my opening article. Some of you may know that my daughter, Teegan Vangellow, works for The PGA Tour Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor Florida, which was just held 2 weeks ago. Matthew Fitzpatrick won with a dramatic putt at the 18th green on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort. It was awesome!
My daughter is 29 years old and is in her 3rd year with Valspar. She is in charge of Sponsor Activations, Special Events and Charities for the Valspar. It is a huge year-round job. And I am proud to say she is doing a great job! This year they set another record for charity dollars raised, and alot of that is due to her hard work and creativity!
I attended the entire week and her brother Harrison flew in from Boston as we have done for three years – it is a true family highlight.
One of the neat things that happended was that she got interviewed by a local TV News station in Tampa on Friday morning of the event. The Tournament Director, Tracy West, who Teegan directly reports to is mostly in the first half of the video, and my daughter Teegan is in the latter half.
