Past Women's RDGA Players of the Year

The 2017 Women's RDGA Player of the Year: Deb Wood

The Rochester District Golf Association began its Women'sPlayer of the Year Award in 2015 as a way of honoring the most consistent championship-level women's player of the season.

Designed to recognize and celebrate women’s skill in the game of golf, the Player of the Year is recognized annually at the RDGA Fall Meeting. This recognition is open to all women in the RDGA and is based on gross scores only. Points are awarded to the top finishers in RDGA, NYSGA and USGA tournaments and others. To be considered for the Women's RDGA Player of the Year award, golfers must play in at least one RDGA event to be included.

In 2017, Deb Wood from Hickory Ridge Golf Resort was the winner of the RDGA Women's Player of the Year honors, earning 320 points throughout the year. Wood's 2017 season included winning the Women's title at the RDGA Play Day at Brook-Lea Country Club and finishing third in the RDGA Women's Open. Finishing runner-up in the points race was Wendy Bolton, who won the Low Gross Score title at the RDGA Women's Open.
