Ever wonder what it would be like to play in a tournament at one of the Rochester area's top private courses?
Ever wonder how you would react under tournament conditions?
Returning to the 2017 RDGA Tournament Schedule are the popular RDGA Play Days; events open to ALL amateur golfers - men and women, ages 18 and above - with an active USGA GHIN Handicap Index through the Rochester District Golf Association. If you've never played in an actual golf tournament before - or if you've always wanted to play some of the best courses in the area - then RDGA Play Days are for you!
RDGA Play Days are designed to be a fun, yet competitive day for golfers of all ability levels. Registration for Play Day events is $85 per person and includes use of the club's practice facility; a cart and 18 holes of stroke play at 100-percent handicap; as well as prizes by flight and hors d'ouvres after the tournament. Contestants are welcome to request pairing in foursomes with friends who are also registered to play. Flights include Men's White Tees, Men's Gold Tees and Women's Red Tees; prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each flight, in the form of Pro Shop gift certificates at the host club.
This year's RDGA Play Day host courses include four of the top private clubs in Rochester:
- STAFFORD COUNTRY CLUB, Monday, June 12. Designed by noted American architect and U.S. Amateur champion Walter J. Travis, Stafford has been one of the Rochester area's top private golf clubs since it's opening in 1921 - and most recently hosted the RDGA District Championships in 2014. Join us at Stafford for a fun mid-season Play Day! REGISTRATION CLOSED.
- BROOK-LEA COUNTRY CLUB, Monday, September 25. This historic westside club was designed by the great Donald Ross (one of six courses in the Rochester area) and first opened in 1926. Site of the annual LPGA Symetra Tour, Brook-Lea hosts our second Play Day of 2017, where golfers will enjoy an early Autumn day on one of the area's most scenic and historic clubs.
