Regardless of Handicap
With the exception of the Match-Play championship, the John H. Ryan Jr. Memorial, the Senior/Super Senior and the Junior Boys & Girls Championships, RDGA tournaments do not exclude anyone by virtue of skill level. All the tournaments are flighted by a player’s handicap index, allowing every golfer of varying ability to compete against other players of similar skills. “This is a great opportunity for those men and junior golfers who are looking to compete at a higher level,” said RDGA President Jim Cook. “It also gives many golfers the chance to play different golf courses, including some of the better private clubs in the area.”
Junior Tournaments Offer Great Experience for Boy and Girl Golfers
There are many opportunities for the youth golfer to participate competitively throughout the 2006 RDGA junior golf season. Golfers of every level and every age can have a fun experience playing against their peers from all over the region. At the junior championship level, boys and girls up to 18 years of age have created some memorable golf moments as they competed their way to the next level. Many, who have gone on to play golf in college and even in the pro ranks, have their names inscribed on RDGA junior trophies.
