Jim Scorse and Dominic
Bozzelli Earn Players of the Year for 2008
Rochester, New York September 29, 2008 – The
Rochester District Golf Association, at its
annual Fall Round Up at Penfield Country Club, named Jim Scorse of Stafford
Country Club and Dominic Bozzelli of Locust Hill Country Club as men’s and
junior players of the year, respectively. Scorse, by virtue of the highest
point total in tournament play earned this award for the second straight year.
This is Mr. Scorse’s 7th Player of the Year award since it began,
back in 1997.
Dominic Bozzelli, who won the
RDGA men’s Match-Play in May, amassed more points than any other junior
winner. He also finished fourth in the USGA Junior Amateur Tournament, which is
something no other Rochester junior golfer has done.
Larry Sand of Irondequoit was
also honored for winning the John H. Ryan Jr. Memorial Men’s District
Championship in July.
RDGA Announces New Officers and Board of
Directors
The business portion of the
Fall Round Up meeting saw a new board elected by the RDGA delegates who were
present. That board then elected the new officers for the 2009 year:
