Eight RDGA Women Friendly Course Evaluations Now Available for Review

According to recent studies, women comprise the fastest growing segment of the golfing population. The RDGA Women Friendly Course Evaluation is a voluntary program that evaluates local courses based on criteria that women feel are important. The rating criteria have been culled from numerous published surveys of female golfers – as well as a survey conducted locally by the Rochester Chapter of EWGA (Executive Women’s Golf Association).

During the 2014 season, six evaluations were conducted. Each course was evaluated by a team of 8 active golfers of varying skills levels. They made their own tee times – playing usually in groups of 4 – and rated courses in five key areas: playability, amenities, atmosphere, value and overall experience.  A total of 34 women participated in the evaluation process.

Each year, new evaluations are added – from reviews of Batavia Country Club, Clifton Springs Country Club, Lakeside Country Club, Parkview Fairways, Silver Lake Golf Club and Terry Hills Golf Club – and now, they are all available for your review, right on the RDGA website (follow the link HERE to read the evaluations).

Why are these evaluations important? Ultimately, they benefit the entire golfing community. By highlighting those courses that welcome women golfers, more women may be encouraged to play golf – and with more women playing golf, more juniors and families might become regular golfers, increasing rounds played and helping the local golf economy.

If you are a local course manager or course owner who is interested in having your facility rated by the RDGA Women Friendly Course Evaluation program, please contact the RDGA office at 585-292-5950, or email us at: info@rdga.org. Our goal is to complete each evaluation within 30 days. Evaluations will be competed in the order that the requests are received.
