RDGA 2008 Tournaments
Why are we learning the rules of
golf? To maximize our understanding of the game
when we play in tournaments. The RDGA has a
full slate of tournaments in 2008 for persons of
all skill levels, including young women and Pee
Wee’s. And during these events, RDGA officials
are on the course to ensure proper rules
compliance and interpretation. In many cases,
our rules officials will educate the player(s)
in a helpful way so that the competition will
remain fair and, so that a player will not
commit an error that will disqualify him from
further play.

Introduction to the Definitions and Rules of
Golf
We will review
the Definitions and the Rules which are most
relevant to everyday play during this three
session seminar.
Rule booklets will be provided.

Coaches Corner
A seminar developed for High School and College
coaches and their players to enhance their
understanding of how to use the Rule Book.
Materials will be provided for
coaches and their team members.

Seminar Leader — Wilson Fitch
Wilson is our Senior RDGA Rules Official in the
Rochester area. He has taken on every training
opportunity available from the USGA and through
many years of experience has become one of the
top rules officials in this part of the country.
Wilson loves the opportunity to instruct and
share with others the finer points of the game
and how the game should be played within the
rules.
In-Depth Study of the Rules
This seminar is
suited to people who may be interested in being
a rules official. Strong emphasis on
Rule 20.

Tournament Administration
This seminar
will review the responsibilities of a Club
Tournament Committee with emphasis on the duties
of Starters, Scorers and Notice to Competitors.
